Nursing Labs
Introduction to Nursing Lab
The lab module ‘Introduction to Nursing’ is offered to 1st semester students. It provides training in nursing skills which are essential to them prior to visiting health care facilities for the first time as nursing students, such as vital signs measurement, use of sterilized material, and bed making.
Basic Nursing Lab
The lab module ‘Basic Nursing’ is offered to 2nd semester students. It provides training in basic nursing skills, such as nasogastric tube placement, use of enemas, urinary tract catheterization, hygiene for bedridden patients, and pressure ulcer prevention and treatment.
Surgical Nursing Labs
The Surgical Nursing Labs are specially designed for maximum observation. 3rd and 4th semester students are trained in surgical nursing skills such as injections, closed chest drainage management, tracheotomy management, bronchial suction, and stoma care.
Medical Nursing Labs
The Medical Nursing Labs are specially designed for combining theoretical training with mannequin interaction. 3rd and 4th semester students are trained in medical nursing skills such as oxygen therapy, central venous pressure measurement, peritoneal lavage, and renal dialysis.
Pediatric Nursing Lab
The lab module ‘Pediatric Nursing’ is offered to 5th semester students. It provides training in nursing skills targeted to pediatric patients, such as infant feeding, infant weighting, personal hygiene, urine sample collection.
